Sex Worker Search

Sex Worker Search is a search engine that indexes the personal websites of independent sex workers. All of the websites indexed are owned by adults and intended exclusively for adult clients. All of the websites are text based with accompanying, non pornographic images.

I look into the web presence of each sex worker wanting to be indexed on SWS in detail before deciding whether to index their website or not. None of them are defined as harmful in the guidelines provided by Ofcom. I look into what kind of written content and accompanying images are on their sites, I check their social media and I google their contact number and/or reverse image search their main image to see what other ads they have online. Everyone with a site indexed on SWS, also has ads on escort directories where they have been age verified. None of the sex workers indexed on SWS see underage clients and none of their websites are in any way made to be appealing to anyone underage.

Sex Worker Search is not a porn website.

See page 32 for a full definition of pornography according to Ofcom.

2.2 For the purposes of the Online Safety Act 2023 (the Act), pornographic content specifically

excludes any content which:

a) consists only of text, or

b) consists only of text accompanied by:

i) identifying content which consists only of text;

other identifying content which is not itself pornographic content

Sex Worker Search does not contain any suicide content, self harm content, or eating disorder content. No abusive content, no content which incites hatred, no bullying content, no violent content, no harmful substances content, no dangerous stunts and challenges content. No body stigma content. No depression content.

I have read Ofcom's Children’s Register of Risks and I don't believe Sex Worker Search contains any non-designated content.

I have done my best to follow the proposed four step process.

I have read the Children's Register of Risks.

I have tried my best to read and understand the relevant parts of the Online Safety Act.

Sex Worker Search had 3300 visitors in the last 28 days. 314 of those visitors were from The United Kingdom.

As far as I can tell from Ofcom guidelines the OSA does not set a specific percentage or numeric threshold (e.g. 5%, 10%) for what constitutes a “significant number” of UK child users.

I estimate that approximately 0% of the 314 UK users of Sex Worker Search in the last month were children. Sex Worker Search itself is not designed to be appealing to children. Neither are any of the sites in the links. On the contrary Sex Worker Search and all sites indexed in SWS search results are designed specifically for adults.

Featured and premium listings are now live!

Premium listings are available for £10 GBP per month.

Featured listings are available in exchange for a do follow link on an independent sex worker's own personal website.

When you enter a search term, for example "Mistress in London", sites matching that search term that have featured or premium search listings will appear first and then all other search results.

Search results will only be returned if they match the search terms you've entered.

I won't make a masseuse in New York appear above a Mistress in London just because they've paid for a sponsored search listing when the search term entered was "Mistress in London".

Please send me an email if you'd like a premium or featured listing for your own website.

why do we need a search engine

The reason I built this search engine was to help genuine clients to find sex workers who have their own personal websites.

I have been a sex worker for over 20 years. I started out advertising in classified listings in newspapers. I've seen the rise and fall of directories. I've owned my own personal site for ten years.

I think owning your own website as a sex worker is the best way to promote yourself.

A personal website tells clients that you have expended time, effort and money to create your own presence online. It says that you care about your reputation and are likely to genuinely care about providing the best possible experience for your clients.

The popular opinion among clients these days is that the likelihood of a provider being genuine and the quality of the services they provide are directly proportionate to how much time, work and money they have put into their web presence.

The cover image for this post is a screenshot of a search of the Sexworkers subreddit for the words "search engine". The posts listed there give a good indication of how sex workers and clients feel about search engines, directories and personal websites.

The How to Find a Safe Provider guide and How to Get Started as a Sex Worker FAQ are both excellent resources for clients and sex workers respectively. The message regarding personal websites in both posts is clear.

Checking whether a sex worker has their own site is step 1 for clients researching to find a safe provider.

Having your own site shows you're established, genuine and professional.

Unfortunately, conventional search engines blatantly discriminate against sex workers.

It is very difficult to rank high up in search results on search engines like google as an independent sex worker. Clients are unlikely to click through multiple pages of search results to find the personal site of an independent sex worker.

Most search results on popular search engines relating to sex work display directories (often full of scams and primarily frequented by timewasters), tabloid news articles (that give incredibly biased and inaccurate portrayals of our work), and agencies (many of which are known for exploitation) above the sites of actual sex workers.

Here on sexworkersear.ch, only the personal websites of independent sex workers appear in search results. No articles, no directories and no agencies. 100% independent providers who own their own sites.
